Churches are different. Baptist churches are different, and I guess you could say that our church is different, too. We have our own personality and I don't know that it is possible to describe it in one word. But the word "family" describes it pretty well...and if I were going to expand on that, I'd say we're an open family. We're ready to welcome into our family those who know God and those who need to know him. So it doesn't matter who you are or from what background you come, I just want to welcome you to our family.

As you look through these pages, you'll see evidence that we are family. There are opportunities to serve others and opportunities to grow a spiritual life which will be satisfying to you. We try and keep a personal focus on what is happening in your life. If you need help, we'll take your hand and walk through your difficulties together. That's what family is all about.

On the wall of my office hangs a sign which says,

"MEANINGLESS LIVES ARE A RESULT OF WORTHLESS PURSUITS."

So much of life is just that way...running after things which when all is said and done, are worthless. When you've achieved your purpose you still don't have much. The key to giving life significance is finding what God wants for your life. Once you find his direction, following leadership you'll find a life which is so important it counts even in eternity.
