Meet Our Staff

Dr. Raymon Leake


Dr. Leake has been pastor of First Baptist Church, Meridian since 1995, having previously served at First Baptist, Picayune and First Baptist, Richton. He and his wife, Gloria, are natives of Columbia, Mississippi. They have 3 children and 9 grandchildren all of whom reside in the Meridian area and are a part of the church.

Dr. Leake’s work includes pastoral responsibility, preaching, and community activity. He received his education at the University of Southern Mississippi and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

He is an avid hiker and for more than 30 years has traveled annually to mountainous locations to hike and camp. His adventures have taken him to the French and Swiss Alps, the Southern Alps of New Zealand, Mt. Sinai, and various locations in the western United States and Canada.

Rev. Wayne Polk

Associate Pastor for Outreach and Discipleship

Wayne Polk has served First Baptist, Meridian as Associate Pastor for Outreach and Discipleship since June 2011. Before coming to Meridian, he and his wife Cheryl, served churches in Louisiana, Georgia, and Mississippi.  Wayne received his education in Music and Church Music from Delta State and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Wayne is actively involved in missions both internationally and in the United States. In addition, he works with local outreach organizations such as Wesley House and Boys & Girls Club.

Wayne is an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoys cooking “Cajun” foods.

Rev. David Bishop

Associate Pastor for Music

David has been Associate Pastor in Music at First Baptist, Meridian since October 1996. Prior to coming to Meridian, he served churches in Canton, MS, Vine Grove, KY, and Georgetown, KY. A native of Lexington, KY, David grew up in Kentucky, California, and Ohio. He received his education at Georgetown college and Southern Seminary. David’s wife,Valerie is Science Division Chair at Meridian Community College.

When not busy at church, David enjoys DIY projects at home.

Rev. Josh Dunn

Associate Pastor to Students

Josh has served First Baptist Church, Meridian as Associate Pastor to Students since January 2017. Before coming to Meridian, he served churches in Alabama and Mississippi. Josh received his education from the University of Mississippi and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

He enjoys the great outdoors and all things Ole Miss.

Caitlin Braud

Director of Children's Ministries

Caitlin Braud began serving FBC Meridian as Director of Children’s Ministries in April 2014.  Prior to her service here, Caitlin served in children’s ministry in her home town of  Baton Rouge ,LA.  She received her education at Louisiana State University.

Caitlin and her husband, Jason, have two daughters, Paige and Laken. Caitlin is looking forward to teaching them her love of summer, sand, and sunshine.

Ellen Rogers

Christian Counselor

Ellen Rogers has served as counselor at First Baptist, Meridian since 2009.  She received her education at Mississippi University for Women, the University of Mississippi, and Mississippi State University. She is a member of the National Association of Christian Counselors.

In addition to her counseling duties, Ellen serves as a teacher and Bible study leader at FBC. She is also member of the Mississippi Baptist Literacy Task Force and is a certified workshop leader for English as a Second Language.

Ellen and her husband, Walter, have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
